Professional Liability

The issue of the responsibilities of professionals-accountants, attorneys, securities brokers, engineers, and architects-has increasingly become a focus of regulatory bodies and agencies. Because of the expertise our firm has acquired in the area of professional liability, we are often called upon to counsel lawyers and other professionals about issues of ethical behavior and professional responsibilities.

In addition, the firm regularly represents national and local law and accounting firms in lawsuits, disciplinary proceedings, and partnership break-ups and dissolutions, taking our attorneys into state, federal and bankruptcy court to litigate these cases. We also represent licensees before their state disciplinary bodies. And, we have represented professionals sued by the FDIC and RTC, as well as architects sued for professional malpractice.

In doing so, we have defended claims covering malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty, RICO and securities law violations, and fraudulent conveyances under state law and the Bankruptcy Code.
