Born in Miami, Elizabeth Brooks Honkonen earned her Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University and her J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Miami, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif, the National Scholastic Honor Society for Law, and managing editor of University of Miami Law Review.
She has been admitted to the bar of Florida and the Supreme Court of the United States; U.S. Court of Appeals, Federal Circuit and the Eleventh Circuit; and the U.S. District Court, Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. Ms. Honkonen has served as a legal research and writing instructor at the University of Miami School of Law, and was a contributor to the 1998 and 1999 editions of Florida Civil Procedure, West's Florida Practice Series.
Ms. Honkonen is a member of the Dade County and Federal Bar associations and The Florida Bar. Ms. Honkonen is currently Vice President for Alumni Relations and Activities of the Board of Directors of the University of Miami Law Alumni Association.
