Mr. Patton's practice focuses on commercial litigation with an emphasis on plaintiff's antitrust cases. He has practiced antitrust law at a national level for 18 years. He primarily represents clients in antitrust matters seeking individualized business relief as opposed to class-action litigation. Most of his cases involve multi-district litigation before federal an appellate judges throughout the country. He has represented client’s in a wide array of industries including business accounting, computer information systems, retail grocery, pharmacy, product manufacturing and sale, and waterborne shipping.
In the commercial area, he also has experience in complex property damage cases, business interruption, eminent domain, breach of contract and bad faith insurance prosecution. Typically, Mr. Patton is retained in cases involving multiple parties and/or government entities.
His experience includes successfully trying cases in both federal and state courts on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. His overriding objective is an unwaivering dedication to seeing each case through to trial. His trial experience reflects an equal commitment to trials as short as a week and complex trial settings that have lasted several weeks and months. He has also advises, on a regular basis, clients and trade association members in the area of antitrust compliance on an ongoing basis.
